Creating adult content, in Brazil, the US, or anywhere else, takes far more than boldness, creativity or horniness. It’s a profession that demands technical skill, strategic thinking, attention to health and wellbeing, and a great deal of resilience. But what exactly do content creators need most right now?
In March and April 2025, we conducted a survey with 132 adult content creators from Brazil and the United States to better understand their priorities. The results revealed some clear and urgent needs — particularly among Brazilian creators, who face unique challenges in a less structured industry environment.
Content Creation Support: The Basics Still Out of Reach
The most pressing need among Brazilian creators was support with content production, including filming, editing, and access to equipment. 70% of Brazilian respondents said this kind of support would make a significant difference in their work.
It’s important to highlight that many Brazilian creators are already producing impressive content, showcasing creativity and professionalism. However, for the majority, technical limitations remain a major barrier. In contrast, only 47% of US-based creators reported needing this kind of support. Instead, their top concern was networking and industry connections, reflecting a more mature and professionalised ecosystem.
Marketing and Promotion: Growing with Strategy
The second most common need was marketing and promotional support, cited by 61% of Brazilian creators. This includes guidance on how to use social media more effectively, build a personal brand, and retain a loyal audience.
In an increasingly saturated market, knowing how to position and promote yourself is essential. Yet many creators are still navigating this space alone without the tools or knowledge they need to succeed.
Mental Health and Wellbeing: A Clear Call for Support
Mental health emerged as a major concern — and with good reason. Working in the adult industry can be emotionally demanding, and many creators feel isolated or unsupported.
Here’s what the data revealed:
- 68% of Brazilian creators said they would benefit from mental health support focused on sexual wellbeing.
- 81% said access to a therapist familiar with the adult industry would be extremely helpful.
- 67% wanted priority access for creators to sexual health screenings.
- 43% said they lacked education around STIs (sexually transmitted infections).
US-based creators reported similar concerns. These figures highlight a troubling reality: many creators are managing physical and emotional health challenges without adequate support. This affects not only their work but their overall quality of life. The message is clear: mental and sexual health support for adult content creators is essential and long overdue.
Copyright Protection: A Demand for Justice
With the rise in targeted harassment and unfair account suspensions on social media, copyright protection has become a top priority. 84% of Brazilian creators and 79% of US creators said they wanted more support in protecting their content, especially when it comes to removing leaked material from unauthorised platforms.
For many, content theft and piracy result in daily income loss and a deep sense of powerlessness. Stronger protections and clearer processes are urgently needed.
Accessible, Community-Centred Information
Information alone isn’t enough — how it’s delivered matters. 64% of creators said they would like access to a dedicated support website, featuring practical articles and guides, especially videos and interviews with other creators, and an active presence on social media.
